Facebook launches the ‘Collab’ application to compete with TikTok

-

The Facebook New Product Experimentation (NPE) team is testing these days in a new application. It’s actually inspired by the TikTok short music video app called ‘Collab’. However, at this time this application is only available for iOS users with beta version by invitation only. NPE has stated in its note that in the Collab app users can create their own original video, watch and also mix and match the video. TicTalk also offers a similar function to its users, in which they synchronize with the existing videos on this platform. However, on this platform, users can sync up to three videos simultaneously instead of two. The NPE Facebook team also notes in their note that the Collab app is specifically designed to allow people to use their creativity while blocking the coronavirus to bring out superpowers. How does Collab work? Like TikTok, in Collab, users can create videos and sync other users’ existing videos by aligning them correctly. However, instead of two vertical TicTalk videos, users can sync up to three videos simultaneously in landscape mode. However, the final video will only be vertical. After creating a video on Collab, users can also share it on other social media platforms. The company said that once the collaborative video is done, it publishes it so that other users can watch the video and mix and match it into that video. You can also share videos made on this platform on other social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook Story, etc. However, it is unclear whether creating an account to watch videos in this app or without an account like TicTalk would be mandatory. Create can also be seen in this video. Currently this app is only available to beta users by invitation only. However, you can test the beta version application by registering on the NPE website.
