Like Swiggy, Zomato has added this category to their app. Swiggy told Gadgets 360 that age verification and user authentication have been made mandatory during ordering to prevent misuse of the feature. The user will have to upload their government ID while requesting age verification. For greater authenticity, the user should also send their selfie. The authenticity of the client will also be verified through OTP during delivery. Swiggy stated that liquor orders will also be taken in a limited quantity, not more than the quantity prescribed by state law. Zomato also reports to Gadget 360, claiming that his company has started home delivery of liquor in Ranchi. However, Zomato has not yet clarified what steps it will take to find out the authenticity of the user.
