Unique feature can be added to WhatsApp soon, media files will be deleted automatically

-

WhatsApp is currently working on a new feature called Expiring Media, under this feature, media files such as photos, videos and GIFs will automatically disappear from chat after a view as soon as users leave the chat. The latter feature is believed to be an extension of the Expiring Messages feature, which the instant messaging company has been working on for some time. With expiration media, WhatsApp users will be able to temporarily send photo videos to other users. WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo has shared some screenshots that can be viewed using this feature. It can be seen from a screenshot that this feature will be available to access via a dedicated timer button. Users need to tap on that button after adding media files to their chat. Based on other screenshots, Select Media will enable content expiration. According to the WABetaInfo report, the video and image will disappear completely as soon as the user leaves the chat window of the expiring media-enabled photos and videos. Not only this, WhatsApp has also introduced a timer icon for media files sent through this feature, so that users who receive the file know that the sent file is for a limited time as soon as they exit the chat. WABetaInfo noted that this new feature has been developed for Android users at an early stage, although it will be offered to both Android and iPhone users. Let me tell you, WhatsApp’s media expiration feature is a lot like Instagram, in which photos and videos posted by users in direct messages automatically disappear. Instagram also allows its users to make media files disappear in group messages. Last month the beta version 2.20.197.10 of Zari Whatsapp for Android saw signs of the expired message feature. As soon as this feature is enabled, the 7-day chat will automatically disappear. The screenshot shared in the reference of this function also indicated that not only chats but also media files will disappear with chat using expired message function. However, some photos and videos can be saved before expiration. It is worth mentioning that WhatsApp has not released any information about the expiring message or revealed anything about the expiring media. At the moment, it is also not clear how long these new features will be delivered to users.
